Why call this “Selling Geek”?
Well, believe it or not, there are some of us in the sales profession that love technology. And we’re always looking for ways to use technology to give us an edge.
We are geeks – selling geeks. We admit it. We love to sell, and we love tech. And most of all, we love to find ways to use tech to make us better sellers.
What are some of the symptoms of selling geekdom? To qualify, there are just two criteria:
First, do any of these apply to you?
- Do you get excited about finding an interesting new website?
- Are you nuts about gadgets, just because they’re “cool”?
- Do you check the tech blogs regularly, looking for the “next big thing”?
- Are you the one that everyone calls for help with PowerPoint?
- Are you the one that everyone calls for help with their Mac or PC?
- Are you the one that everyone calls for help with Word, Excel, e-mail, web browsing, or anything involving a computer?
- Do you feel a sense of triumph when you figure out a new feature on your mobile phone?
- Have you ever debated the merits of Windows vs. Mac?
If you’ve said yes to any of the above, you’re a geek. Don’t be alarmed — it’s perfectly OK. There are a lot of us.
Second, do you sell for a living?
If you’ve said yes to both criteria, you’re a selling geek. Welcome to the club! This blog and podcast are for you.
